How It Works

When a candidate is enrolled in a sequence:

  • Emails are scheduled based on your sequence steps

  • Each step triggers an email at a defined time or delay

  • Emails are sent automatically without manual action

To improve delivery, Puck spaces out emails instead of sending them all at once.

Email Scheduling Behavior

  • Emails follow the timing set in your sequence

  • Delivery may not happen at the exact scheduled moment

  • Emails are sent gradually across candidates

Email Spreading (Important)

Puck uses a system to spread out email delivery:

  • Sends approximately 1 email per inbox per minute

  • Adds small variations in send time

  • Distributes emails across a time window

This ensures more reliable delivery and prevents emails from being flagged as automated.

What You Might Notice

  • Emails arrive a few minutes after the scheduled time

  • Candidates receive emails at slightly different times

  • Large batches take longer to fully send

This is expected behavior.

Managing Email Content

Email templates are managed through sequences:

  1. Go to Sequences

  2. Open the relevant sequence

  3. Click Edit sequence

  4. Update the email step

Changes apply to future emails in the sequence.

When Emails Are Sent

Emails are sent when:

  • The sequence is Active

  • A candidate is enrolled

  • The scheduled step is reached
