Interpreting AI Interview Flags 🚩

Puck monitors AI interviews in real time and automatically flags candidate interactions that require recruiter attention. Use this guide to identify, locate, and review flagged candidate interactions directly from your dashboard.

Step 1: Understanding AI Interview Flags

When viewing your AI Interviews table, specific color-coded badges highlight moments where human intervention is needed:

  • 🔵 Blue Flag (Candidate Question Escalation): Appears when a candidate asks a company-, role-, or process-specific question that the AI interviewer cannot answer based on available context and escalates for human review.

  • 🟠 Orange Flag (Human Interviewer Request): Appears when a candidate explicitly requests to speak with a human interviewer rather than completing the session with the AI agent.

Step 2: Reviewing Flags and Timestamps

  1. Navigate to AI Interviews on the left menu and click into your AI Interview

  2. Notice flags appearing under the interviewee's name within their interview record

  3. Click into the flagged candidate profile or interview row from the table view.

  • From here, see specific flag markers and exact timestamps where each trigger occurred.

  • Review the candidate's exact query or request to determine appropriate follow-up actions (such as replying to their specific question or scheduling a live human call).

💡 Best Practices

  • Update Job FAQ Context: Use recurring blue flag questions to enrich your job description or pre-interview guidance so the AI agent has more answers readily available in future interviews.
